In Conversation with the Eternal

On May 27th and 28th of 1979, Father Anthony Elenjimittam walked along the bank of the Naviglio di Magenta, near Milan. Numerous reflections come to his thoughts, mainly triggered by the dialogue with youngsters - and by their questions -, which occurred in that period of permanence in Italy.
These questions ranged from cosmological topics - such as the creation of the world and its countless forms of life -, to more sensitive and pragmatic ones, like the subjects of sex and sexual differentiation constantly leading us to look for a partner. And yet, which partner is superior to the Eternal, to the Absolute? Here a dialogue arises between Father Anthony - asking the questions - and the Eternal, who answers in a sublime and unequivocal way, leaving ample space for the understanding that everything is One, that we are all children of the Highest; and that He loves us and will always love us, despite of our many mistakes.
Being mistaken basically derives from a wrong understanding of the fact we all are One, brothers in the divine. The Eastern philosophy of Advaita Vedanta the author often refers to allows us to fully realise the message of Jesus Christ "I and my Father are One" - which Father Anthony took as his motto, with the "Ut Omnia Unum Sint, so that all may be One".
